Strahan is a welcoming harbour side village on Tasmania’s west coast. This scenic, historic port town is a major tourism centre for the west coast region and the departure point for exploring some of Tasmania’s most extraordinary wilderness. Located on the shore of Macquarie Harbour and adjoining the Tasmanian Wilderness World Heritage Area and the Franklin-Gordon Wild Rivers National Park, Strahan is the gateway to incredible wilderness experiences. Aquaculture is the other main industry in Strahan, with a new hub being built and due for completion in 2016.
